The Senior Lead Engineer Structural is responsible for accurately preparing complex construction documents and well considered technical solutions. Plans and conducts independent work in the Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Engineering discipline within the Advanced Technology Facilities (ATF) and Biopharma and Life Sciences (BLS) industries requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

* May lead a team of Engineers and Designers, as well as plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects
* Collaborates with other disciplines and contractors to support the development of design deliverables such as drawings and specifications
* Reviews shop drawings and submittals to understand how design and construction are inter-related
* Attends construction and design verification walks and submit report of observations
* Prepares structural engineering calculations and finite element modelling under the supervision of a Senior Engineer
* Serves as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area
* Represents the organization and maintains liaisons with individuals and related organizations
* Works closely with design and technical teams in leading the development of design deliverables such as reports and Construction Documents, including drawings and specifications
* Analyses and designs the basic structural components of a building or other structure
* Coordinates structural models and drawings with the other design disciplines
* Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications
* Participates in the development of office standards and procedures
* Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments
* May assist in cost estimates and quantity take-offs for on-going projects, proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
* Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers, EI's, interns, designers, drafters, and technicians.
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Required
* Bachelor's in Engineering required
* Master's Degree preferred
* Professional Engineering (PE) License required
* Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred
* 10+ years of experience

Preferred
* Prior experience in semiconductors and microelectronic facilities
* Experience with Design-Build
* Experience with structural analysis software such as RAM, STAAD, Tedds and Enercalc
* Experience working in an office environment and preferably has experience working on a construction site
* Experienced in Autodesk Building Systems Software design and delivery systems
* Experience as a consulting engineer
* Experience in contributing to continuous improvement processes
* Experience in driving and managing change
* Exhibit a professional demeanor and be a proactive problem solver
* Adept at interfacing with and aligning multiple stakeholders with diplomacy while exhibiting a professional demeanor
* Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills in meetings and reports along with respect, tact and diplomacy
* Exhibit characteristics of an emerging or developed leader
* Be capable of enjoying the work and keeping a positive attitude in a challenging environment
* Working knowledge Autodesk Building Systems Software design and delivery systems
* Understand industry, drafting and design standards associated with detailing and construction document development
* Understands differences between project delivery methods
* Ability to work with global teams and/or multi-office project execution is desirable
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
