About the Team

The Lakewood Health System Pharmacy team plays an integral role in providing safe, effective, and evidence-based medication management throughout the organization. Supporting hospital pharmacy, oncology pharmacy, and infusion services, the team collaborates closely with providers, nursing, operational leaders, and other departments to ensure patients receive high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Mission for Position

The Hospital Pharmacy Manager provides leadership and oversight of hospital pharmacy operations, oncology pharmacy, and infusion medication management services to ensure safe, effective, compliant, and patient-centered medication use throughout Lakewood Health System.

Position Summary

The Hospital Pharmacy Manager provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for hospital pharmacy, oncology pharmacy, and infusion medication management services. This position oversees medication procurement, preparation, dispensing, distribution, inventory management, medication safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and pharmacy information systems while supporting the continued advancement of clinical pharmacy services. The Hospital Pharmacy Manager leads and develops pharmacy personnel, promotes a collaborative and accountable team culture, supports departmental budgeting and financial performance, and partners with providers, nursing leadership, administration, and other departments to advance safe and effective medication management throughout Lakewood Health System. The manager also maintains the ability to perform clinical pharmacist duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the State of Minnesota.
  • Ability to maintain current pharmacist licensure and required continuing education.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Previous pharmacy management, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medication safety, regulatory compliance, and pharmacy information systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and organizational leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, mentor, and develop pharmacy personnel.
  • Knowledge of applicable pharmacy regulations and standards, including USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, Board of Pharmacy, and other federal, state, and local requirements.
