Responsibilities
Sabre Systems is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer to support the PMA-281 Strike Planning and Execution Systems, Collaborative Mission Planning Continuum (CMPC) program. The CMPC program is a software intensive solution. Development of the CMPC software will apply new software architecture, digital engineering, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development processes. This position is a remote position. Requires travel approximately 6-8 times per year. The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Performing Systems Engineering/MBSE activities for a software intensive program that is developing mission planning and execution solutions/tools.
- Participate in technical interchange meetings and review vendor technical recommendations
- Lead working groups to address engineering and technical challenges that require analysis of alternatives.
- Engage with users to collect input and feedback to improve and enhance CMPC model.
- Co-ordinate with test and evaluation activities for assessment of CMPC software.
- Contribute to, and provide peer review for, technical White Papers.
- Contribute to MBSE descriptions of the system, and review vendor produced MBSE models.
- Conduct technical Risk Management and tracking.
- Participate on change management and configuration management processes and review boards.
- Provide technical input and review to project plans, project schedules, project roadmaps
- Brief NAVAIR leadership on technical progress and analysis
- Collaborate with leadership, other engineers, analysts, users, and vendors in an Agile software development workflow to evolve warfighter requirements into enhanced CMPC capabilities.
- Participate in Agile software development processes including backlog grooming, backlog prioritization, sprint reviews, program increment reviews, retrospectives, and capability evaluation.
- Assist with vendor tasking, guidance, and oversight in the development of technical SOWs, participation with TIMs, PMRs, and review of CDRLs.
- Advise and assist NAVAIR executives, managers, and supervisors in the planning and implementation of systems engineering and digital engineering policy and guidance.
- Support project planning and technical cost estimates.
Coordination, development, and road mapping of System Architecture throughout the acquisition and engineering life cycle.
- Apply systems engineering processes to the analysis, development, testing, and deployment of CMPC software.
- Analyze, document, and review CMPC emerging requirements.
- Analyze the impact of changes to CMPC system requirements and interfaces.
- DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) experience
- Experience taking a system through the acquisition lifecycle as it matures through Technical Readiness Levels.
- Additional responsibilities include systems and digital engineering leadership, system information management, technical management, and information technology service coordination among stakeholders
- Understanding of Navy weapons systems and System of Systems to develop and maintain a system level architecture
- Ability to translate Design Reference Missions (DRMs) into logical descriptions of the physical and digital systems
- Ability to communicate abstract concepts both verbally and in technical documentation
- Provide input to Operational, Capability, System, and Information views - OV/SV Diagrams
- Correlate system functions to operational objectives
- Recommend digital solutions to rapidly validate autonomous system behavior
- Develop high-level descriptions and views of the system networks and interfaces
- Recommendations to architecture alternatives which enhance lethality and agility
- Input to system functional decomposition and allocation to systems and sub-systems
- Inputs to capability gap analysis
- Development of Technical Performance Measures
- Inputs to Technical Readiness and Technical Risk Analysis
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Must have a Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university
- ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the "Experience" requirements below, therefore, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
- Must have at least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively work and collaborate with a team, both internally and with industry partners that are remotely located.
- Independently motivated and able to produce products and react quickly to a rapidly changing, continuously evolving environment.
- Be experienced with NAVAIR/NAWCAD processes and policy pertaining to things such as Airworthiness, Weapon Systems Integration, Testing in a System Integration Lab Environment, Software Engineering, Build Architecture Diagrams, Technical Readiness Level (TRL) experience.
- Knowledge of how the Navy shares data.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.

Compensation Statement
At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $148,330.00 - $164,420.00
