Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Senior Systems Engineer to support the F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA-265) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. This candidate will be providing Systems Engineering support with responsibilities involving complex sustainment and obsolescence issues to ensure capability for five FMS cases with Switzerland, Finland, Canada, Spain and Malaysia. This position is a remote position that will require overseas travel and periodic trips to the Program Office at NAS Patuxent River. FMS travel requirements are 1-2 times per quarter.

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Prioritizing and coordinating with Switzerland, Finland, Canada, Spain and Malaysia upgrades and sustainment initiatives with the PMA-265 FMS Integrated Product Teams, other PMAs, Boeing, Fleet Readiness Centers, and NAWC Aircraft Division Subject Matter Experts.
  • Produces Flight Clearance Recommendations (FCRs) for FMS cases.
  • Coordinate with Boeing and FMS cases for major aircraft structural inspection, replacement and repairs of Inner Wing Panels (IWPs), Vertical Tail, Inboard Leading-Edge Flaps (ILEFs) and Trailing Edge Flaps (TEFs) to meet Life Extension Program requirements.
  • Employ systems engineering methods and tools to identify, formulate, design, and/or test practical solutions to engineering problems.
  • Performs technical review and evaluation of FMS cases, Engineering Change Proposals, Technical Directives, CDRLs.
  • Principal areas of responsibility include requirements management, coordination of internal and external action items, and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establishes and maintains communication with project team leaders, NAVAIRSYSCOM officials, competency management and IPT team members to ensure Systems Engineering practices and processes are followed appropriately.
  • Lead Risk Management process within the international team.
  • Respond to engineering taskers as directed by the Program Office leadership.
  • Prepares project correspondence such as technical reports, letters, and memorandums.
  • Serves as PMA-265's Systems Engineering representative and provides technical inputs and prepares appropriate correspondence and reports such as trip reports, meeting action items, etc.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must have a Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
  • Must have at least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems.
  • Prior involvement and experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs required
  • Understanding of program management, acquisition processes, and international defense cooperation strongly desired.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders across U.S. Navy, partners, and industry to ensure program milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $148,330.00 - $164,420.00
