Organization: Center for Social Sustainable Systems (CESOSS) Location: 211 10th St SW Albuquerque, NM 87102 An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award About CESOSS The Center for Social Sustainable Systems (CESOSS) is a not-for-profit organization located in Albuquerque's South Valley. Our vision is to create sustainable, healthy, and thriving communities where traditions connected to land and water are protected, preserved, and passed on to future generations. Our mission is to develop sustainable, community-based, and culturally centered events, programs, and initiatives that empower and preserve the traditions and science-based practices of local and Indigenous communities related to land and water. Job Description CESOSS is looking for a creative and motivated work-study student to assist with our Communications & Marketing efforts. The student will help promote CESOSS programs, events, and community activities through social media, digital communications, graphic design, website updates, and outreach materials. This position is a great opportunity for a student interested in communications, marketing, graphic design, social media, community engagement, or nonprofit work. Responsibilities The Communications & Marketing Work-Study Student will assist with: *Designing promotional flyers for events, informational brochures, tabling materials, infographics, and posters that visually showcase CESOSS's work. *Managing CESOSS social media accounts, including Instagram and Facebook, to promote events and provide updates on programs and activities. *Creating and scheduling engaging social media content that reflects CESOSS's mission and community work. *Preparing and sending periodic e-blasts to share organizational updates and promote upcoming events and activities. *Organizing and maintaining the CESOSS Wix listserv subscriber database. *Adding new subscribers collected through events, programs, and community outreach. *Assisting with updates, corrections, and improvements to the CESOSS website. *Potentially assisting with the bi-annual La Voz publication by collecting articles and information, organizing content, and designing the layout. *Assisting with communications to Valle Vista families and guardians through the program's WhatsApp group. *Attending CESOSS events and activities when needed to help document and promote the organization's work. *Working with CESOSS staff and program coordinators to identify communication and promotional needs. *Completing other communications and marketing projects as assigned. Some work may be completed remotely; however, the student must be available to attend in-person events or meetings when needed. 10-20 hours a week

Qualifications *Must have a current Work-Study Award. *Junior or Senior preferred. *Students studying Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or a related field are encouraged to apply. *Strong written and verbal communication skills. *Creative, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. *Experience with Canva or similar design platforms. *Familiarity with social media platforms, especially Instagram and Facebook. *Basic knowledge of website management; experience with Wix is preferred. *Comfortable learning and using digital communication tools, email platforms, and databases. *Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in community-based work. *Ability to communicate professionally with staff, community members, families, and program participants. *Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
