Guardian Glass is looking for a Regional Float Glass Process Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team!

This role can be based out of any of our float glass facilities in the US or Mexico (Geneva NY, Richburg SC, Carleton MI, DeWitt IA, Corsicana TX, Kingsburg CA, or El Marques Mexico).

In this role, you will be responsible for working directly with the Guardian manufacturing plants in the Americas to improve the operations of our float lines. You will work in a collaborative setting and partner with other regional and global leaders in operations and OpEx to improve the capabilities of our team.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and deploy proven practices for the Float
  • Improving quality, performance and throughput of our Furnaces
  • Support sites to overcome challenges by following a disciplined problem-solving process
  • Work with plants on batch chemistry to optimize quality, cost, and transitions
  • Ensure the best knowledge is understood and shared to build skills and understanding in our teams
  • Serve as a Technical SME to Guardian's production float teams to troubleshoot process or product issues in facilities
  • Seek opportunities to learn from the market and bring outside perceptions, best practices and opportunities that will improve Guardian's process technology capability
  • Clearly present and communicate ideas, concepts, and plans across multiple levels
  • Work in multi-cultural and functional teams globally
  • Work on ramp ups after major projects such as canal changes and cold tank repairs
  • Implement and scale new technologies across plants of ownership

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Float glass process knowledge and experience in full scale manufacturing and development using production scale equipment
  • Experience with project planning and execution (canal change, hot repairs, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (primarily Mon-Fri) in North and South America

  • Experience conducting design and process failure modes and effects analysis
  • Experience contributing to complex projects, analyzing problems, and developing corrective actions

For this role we anticipate paying $130,000 - $160,000 per year.
