Pay Range*: $120,244.80 - $174,324.80/annually

Position Summary

MemorialCare's Enterprise Solution Architects are technology leaders. They drive the technical design of scalable systems for MemorialCare. Enterprise Solution Architects connect MemorialCare's long-term vision with the business and the technical strategy to build an industry-leading platform. They use deep understanding of distributed systems, algorithms optimization, and healthcare knowledge to build a new category of products intersecting deep learning and computing with industry-leading technologies. They harness groundbreaking technologies and build impactful products and platforms that redefines the capabilities of Medical Doctors and MemorialCare's healthcare systems.

MemorialCare Software Architects collaborate across teams to build scalable solutions at MemorialCare, and build services, tools, and libraries that enable innovations in our suite of applications that spans digital media platforms, and web. Software Architects work closely with our varied stakeholders and team members to define requirements for desktop, web and mobile software applications. They design, develop and maintain code for both new application software products and enhancements to existing products. Through this process, they perform unit level verification and assist in final verification of software systems. They assist in the evaluation and recommendations of software packages and tools.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Designs, tests and develops software to meet end users' needs. Accountable for delivery of assigned tasks on time, compliant with development process.

  • Evaluates technical tradeoffs of every decision and works on the best UI and infrastructure practices

  • Assesses the health and performance of software applications and databases and when appropriate, recommends upgrades/modifications for existing systems and programs

  • Supports applications with an understanding of system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting.

  • Establishes, participates and maintains relationships with business units, customers and subject matter experts to remain apprised of direction, project status, architectural and technology trends, risks, and functional/integration issues

  • Analyzes program and application performance using various programming languages, tools and techniques

  • Develops, enforces, and recommends enhancements to applications in terms of standards, methodologies, compliance, and QA practices

  • Adds value to teammates with constructive and critical code reviews, and participates in grooming, sprint planning, research, technical debates, and other agile methodologies and practices

  • Mentors and guides junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance on coding practices and problem-solving approaches

  • Leads technical discussions for feature-level design decisions, evaluating options and recommending solutions

  • Evaluates and integrates AI/ML services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, or similar platforms) into application architectures, considering technical tradeoffs including performance, cost, security, and maintainability

  • Establishes and enforces team standards for AI-assisted development, code quality, and responsible AI use

  • Reviews code generated with AI assistance for quality, security vulnerabilities, performance implications, and adherence to architectural patterns

  • Follows the Agile software development model working with the development team and SCRUM Master to accomplish assigned tasks

  • Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives

  • Analyzes and codes complex modules for features and components, defines data structures, and specifies test tools

  • Analyzes, designs, and makes recommendations about software solutions based on a solid understanding of computer science theory and best practices

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
