Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of Planning & Zoning seeks a qualified professional for the position of Planning Technician on the Zoning Enforcement team in the Department of Planning & Zoning. This role supports the division by performing a variety of administrative, technical, and coordination tasks essential to efficient zoning enforcement operations. Key responsibilities include: * Processing and verifying zoning complaints to ensure accuracy and completeness * Monitoring cases in LEx and LandMARC as needed * Supporting new-hire onboarding activities * Managing personnel certifications * Coordinating staff travel and training logistics * Serving as vehicle coordinator for the division * Acting as office automation coordinator * Conducting research and data entry * Maintaining case files, archiving records, and performing additional duties as assigned
The hiring salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience.

Minimum Qualifications
-
High school diploma and four (4) years of related work experience in a government setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Studies, Zoning, Historic Preservation, Business or Public Administration is preferred.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

This position requires a criminal background, valid driver's license and driving record check. After a training period, this position is eligible for two days of telework per week.
