Work Schedule
8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.
Primary Purpose of Position
The position assists with day-to-day administrative and operational functions for the Department of Bioinformatics & Genomics. Key responsibilities include:


  • Travel & Procurement: Processing travel requests and reimbursements in Concur for faculty, students, and guest speakers; managing purchasing through 49erMart and P-Cards; and tracking order receiving and delivery.

  • HR & Student Support: Setting up assignments and contracts in NinerWorks for undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. students, as well as temporary non-student employees. Partnering with the Division of Research to hire postdocs and coordinating visa processing with the International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO). Assisting department Chair with course scheduling in Banner,

  • Event and building support: coordinating logistics for the Bioinformatics Seminar Series and other departmental events. Serving as building liaison and submit building related orders.

  • General Operations:Collaborating across teams within College to support the college's mission and functions as needed.

Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

  • Experience working with faculty and students.
  • Have experience working in higher education environment is plus
