A Day in the Life

As an ISCO Mechanic, you'll play an important role in keeping our fusion equipment in top condition and ready for use.

Here's what a typical day might look like:



  • Review equipment needing attention, prioritize repairs, and coordinate with your team.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to identify what's causing equipment problems.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged components, make adjustments, and get equipment back into working condition.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to keep equipment operating safely and reliably.
  • Make sure repaired equipment is functioning properly and ready to get back to work.
  • Document completed repairs, communicate equipment needs, and help plan upcoming maintenance.



What You'll Be Doing



  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on HDPE fusion equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components.
  • Repair and replace parts to restore equipment to proper working condition.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Test equipment following repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts replaced.
  • Communicate repair needs, equipment concerns, and maintenance updates to the team.
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.



Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of hands-on mechanical repair experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing machinery or equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documenting repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a reliable team player.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.



Physical Requirements:

This is a hands-on position that requires frequent standing and climbing, occasional lifting, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
