Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer - Vehicle Architecture

Location: Dearborn, MI

Pay: $36.67+/hour

Schedule: Hybrid - 4 days onsite per week


Position Overview

We are seeking an Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to support the development of next-generation vehicle electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures. This role focuses on vehicle electrical systems, power distribution, requirements development, and systems engineering to support future automotive platforms.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.



  • 2+ years of experience in electrical systems design, electrical architecture, or complex electrical system modeling.



  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements decomposition, V-model, interface management, and verification.



  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical networks, power distribution, and electrical system integration.



  • Experience developing and managing technical requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.



  • Understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety standards.



  • Ability to apply AI tools or methods to engineering analysis and optimization.




Preferred Qualifications


  • Automotive electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture experience.



  • Knowledge of 12V/48V vehicle electrical systems and power distribution.



  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or SysML.



  • Familiarity with Jama, DOORS, Jira, or Ford engineering processes.



  • Experience with electrical architecture modeling, failure analysis, and system verification.



  • Master's degree in an engineering discipline.




Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and support next-generation vehicle electrical architecture concepts.



  • Translate vehicle-level requirements into electrical system and subsystem specifications.



  • Manage requirements traceability, verification, and validation.



  • Evaluate electrical networks, power distribution, system interfaces, and architecture performance.



  • Collaborate with hardware, software, electrical, and functional safety engineering teams.



  • Identify technical risks and recommend improvements to electrical system reliability and scalability.




Candidates must be available to work onsite in Dearborn, MI four days per week starting on day one.
