Pay Range

$40,000.00 - $150,000.00

Pediatric cardiac critical care fellows care for critically ill infants, children, and young adults with congenital and acquired heart disease in the Heart Center. Under the supervision of attending physicians, fellows evaluate patients, lead diagnostic workups, and develop and carry out management plans. They also lead resuscitations, perform procedures, coordinate multidisciplinary care, communicate with families, and teach trainees and staff. This training prepares fellows for independent practice as cardiac intensivists.

Prerequisite for training:

  • Musthave completed 3years of Cardiac SurgeryResidencyin an approved training program before August 1, 2026.
  • Additional pediatric cardiac surgery experience (preferred).
  • Must have three (3) letters of recommendations from training program.
  • Must have completed medical school in the U.S. or Canada or be ECFMG certified if an international medical graduate.
  • Mustbe successfully able to obtain a District of Columbia medical license prior to starting fellowship training.
  • Must have successfully passed all three steps of the USMLE.

The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children's National believes an individual's base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children's National compensation philosophy. These factors are legitimate and non-discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual's combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications. Children's National is committed to providing a fair and competitive total rewards package to each of our employees. This base salary range does not include our comprehensive benefits package or any additional compensation for which this position may be eligible.
