The qualified candidate has general knowledge of the operation and management of clinical engineering and medical device information system concepts and technologies. Experience participating in the planning, design, implementation, and support of medical equipment and technical integration methodologies for medical equipment and systems. Facilitates the enterprise-wide collaboration of multiple departments necessary to support clinical engineering, operational, medical device integration, and patient safety initiatives. Candidate actively supports aspects of a project's development lifecycle. Proven ability to demonstrate customer service excellence by managing customer expectations and effectively communicating with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Technical and Analytical - Basic knowledge of clinical systems architecture used for medical device interoperability including clinical applications and specialized areas such as Radiology, Anesthesiology and Laboratory.
  • 2. Communication Skills - Expresses ideas clearly and in a professional manner both orally and in writing.
  • 3. Leadership Skills - Ability to facilitate discussions with key stake holders and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • 4. Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or similar field.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience being responsible for medical equipment, clinical engineering business operations, clinical information systems or patient monitoring systems interface experience preferred.
  • General understanding of the project management, implementation, and operational support experience required to work in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Experience working with customers to gather system requirements, documenting workflow, and providing technical solutions.
  • Prior application support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of utilizing bedside medical devices including telemetry/physiological monitors, pumps, vents, server technology, Wi-Fi, and monitoring networks preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows related to Pharmacy, Respiratory, Anesthesia, Nursing, Operating Room, Cardiology, and Radiology preferred.
  • Working knowledge of project management methods, information systems standards / quality methods / metrics, system application implementation, enhancement, support methods and practices preferred.

LICENSURE

Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Resourceful self-motivated individual interested in learning new technologies to improve patient care and clinical quality.
  • Customer service oriented individual comfortable with interacting with clinicians, technical and operational staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a broad array of biomedical equipment, facilities planning, inventory management, and quality control.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Oncall as required. Must travel to all YNHHS sites as needed. Minor equipment lifting required.
