Introduction

The Commonwealth's Attorney is one of five constitutional officers in the Loudoun County government. The primary function of the office is to investigate and prosecute felony, misdemeanor, traffic, and juvenile criminal cases in concert with local and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as complaints from private citizens.


Job Summary

The Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney is looking for a qualified paralegal to work in a high-volume office to assist in maintaining and organizing files, drafting documents and conducting legal research. The paralegal will assist the attorneys in the preparation of case files.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related paralegal work experience in a law office or government setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates or higher-level degree in paralegal studies preferred.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Complete a Paralegal program recognized by the American Bar Association within twelve (12) months of hire. Candidates with any paralegal studies degree or a Juris Doctor degree are not required to complete a Paralegal program; hold or obtain a notary certification within three (3) months of hire. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish preferred.

Successful candidate will undergo background checks as required
