Department 10019 Biomedical EngineeringPay Range $125,049.60 - $208,436.80 The Director of Biomed Engineering will direct and manage all facets of the Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Department to ensure a safe clinicalenvironment. Will include equipment/technology planning, maintenance and repair . Will provide technological leadership and training to patient care personnel regarding equipment operations, standards, and maintenance. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Provide direction, supervision and development to the departmental staff. Create a high performance and integrated operation to ensure customer expectations are defined and met. Serve as a resource to assist, help, and provide insight to clinical and administrative decision makers. Coordinate biomedical technology management issues within the hospital such as equipment maintenance, equipment assessment, planning, acquisition, and project management. Thorough understanding of all regulatory issues in technology management, to include the Safe Medical Devices Act other regulations of FDA, JCAHO, NFP A, and OSHA; and any other relevant governmental regulations. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree biomedical engineering or related field (Required) Master's Degree related field (Preferred) Minimum Work Experience 7 years related progressive supervisory and project management experience (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge An understanding of theory and application of engineering and scientific skills as applied in medical applications. Demonstrated ability to get along well with clinicians, physicians, researchers, and hospital administrative staff. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Ability to implement and sustain strong business and customer service practices. Demonstrated initiative to complete assigned tasks and develop new programs. Demonstrated ability present to and instruct others in technology management. Ability to take raw data and turn it into useful information. Excellent project management skills. Must be extensively familiar with the functionality, operational aspects, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques for a wide variety of biomedical equipment. The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children's National believes an individual's base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children's National compensation philosophy. These factors are legitimate and non-discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual's combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications.
