Description

The Director, Integrated Strategy is a hands-on, day-to-day strategist who supports a VP or other senior strategy lead in developing and delivering clear, audience-led brand strategy across assigned brands and workstreams.

The role is intentionally weighted 75% toward Brand Strategy and 25% toward strategic orchestration. The Director independently owns defined workstreams and deliverables, translating data and audience insight into actionable strategy, creative briefs, workshops, and strategic narratives. The Director works with the VP to integrate Medical, OCX, and subject-matter-experts into one coherent recommendation.

The Director is the primary day-to-day brand strategist and strategic integrator for assigned workstreams and accounts. The Director manages the work with increasing autonomy and sound judgment while relying on the VP for senior strategic direction, high-impact decisions, senior-client counsel, major new-business leadership, and overall account or portfolio leadership.

What You'll Own

1. Brand Strategy Delivery (75%)

  • Develop assigned components of brand strategy, including audience insight, positioning inputs, value proposition, brand character, narrative frameworks, messaging and creative strategy.
  • Translate research, proprietary data, cultural context, category dynamics, and customer understanding into hypothesis-based insights and clear strategic implications.
  • Lead the development of creative briefs, strategic narratives, workshop agendas, and working-session materials, with VP guidance at key decision points.
  • Partner with core cross-functional team members throughout creative platform and experience-driven tactical solution development to clarify the strategy, provide constructive input, and help ensure the work remains connected to the agreed brand direction.
  • Independently manage defined brand-planning, launch, lifecycle, research, or strategic workstreams while keeping the VP informed of decisions, risks, and areas requiring escalation.
  • Present assigned work to clients and internal teams with a clear rationale and actionable recommendation.

2. Day-to-Day Strategic Integration (25%)

  • Coordinate day-to-day strategic inputs across Brand, Medical, OCX, Content, Analytics, and other relevant partners, following the overall strategic direction established with the VP.
  • Help clarify roles, sequencing, dependencies, and next steps, so specialist contributions are timely, connected, and reflected in the work.
  • Synthesize multidisciplinary inputs into clear deliverables and identify gaps, overlaps, or inconsistencies for resolution with the VP and discipline leads.
  • Support the facilitation of working sessions and workshops that bring the right partners together around a shared strategic objectives.
  • Maintain continuity across assigned workstreams, documenting decisions and helping protect strategic intent as work moves into creative development and execution.
  • Escalate material trade-offs, unresolved strategic tension, scope of work concerns, or senior-client decisions to the VP rather than acting as the sole strategic authority.

3. Client, New Business & Team Support

  • Serve as a day-to-day strategic contact for assigned clients and internal teams, with the VP providing senior strategic leader and counsel.
  • Support client presentations and strategic discussions; lead defined sections or workstreams and prepare the VP for major decision moments.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
