We are seeking an emerging team leader to support and manage defined workstreams, serve as a day-to-day client contact on specific projects, and help keep teams and deliverables moving forward. This person will help translate business priorities into communications plans; guide junior team members; and partner closely with senior account leaders on strategy, client counsel and decision-making. The role requires strong ownership, organization and quality control, along with a willingness to build skills in team leadership, staffing, scope and budget management, and account growth.

Account Description

Integrated corporate affairs and communications partnerships supporting biopharmaceutical companies, focused on rare diseases and oncology. The work spans product and pipeline communications, corporate reputation, executive visibility, stakeholder engagement, internal and external communications, reputation research and planning, and preparation of an annual impact report, with opportunities to support disease awareness and patient-focused initiatives, as well as data and congress communications across the portfolios.

Responsibilities:
  • Build strong day-to-day client relationships and begin providing counsel on defined projects, with support from senior account leaders.
  • Manage defined workstreams across portfolio, pipeline and unbranded disease awareness initiative
  • Support the development of communications strategies and plans that connect business and portfolio priorities with the needs of rare-disease stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project timelines, deliverables and approvals, anticipating needs and escalating issues or decisions at the right time.
  • Draft and review high-quality client materials, including communications plans, messaging, executive content, presentations, research summaries and impact-report content.
  • Guide junior team members through clear delegation, coaching and feedback, while partnering with senior leaders on team priorities and resourcing.
  • Collaborate with strategy, creative, digital, media and other specialists to deliver integrated work that is consistent across audiences and channels.
  • Support account operations by tracking staffing, scopes, budgets and utilization for assigned projects and flagging risks early.
  • Bring forward thoughtful ideas and identify ways to improve current programs or add value, working with senior leaders to shape recommendations for the client.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in a professional environment within the healthcare public relations and/or communications industries.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced (but fun) environment, meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong day-to-day client relationships, contribute thoughtful counsel and know when to engage senior leaders.
  • Experience managing defined workstreams and guiding junior team members through clear delegation, feedback and quality control.
  • Ability to translate business and portfolio priorities into clear communications plans, messaging and high-quality client materials.
  • Strong project-management and operational skills, including tracking timelines, deliverables, staffing, scopes and budgets for assigned work.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Experience and interest in healthcare communications; experience in rare diseases, oncology, healthcare, scientific communications; experience with branded product communications
  • An understanding of social media processes/tools/approach/regulations, corporate review processes, healthcare regulations/pharma industry and issues management

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $130K to $Y140K The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
