Job Description: The Material Program Manager supports Technical Operations Supply Chain Management by managing supplier performance, inventory initiatives, and business processes that support aircraft maintenance operations. They'll partner with Technical Operations, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain Management, and other Stakeholders to improve processes, control costs, and ensure materials are available to support operational needs. They'll serve as the primary liaison for assigned supply chain functions, driving supplier accountability and crossfunctional alignment to support operational and business objectives. The Material Program Manager leverages strong analytical, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills to improve inventory performance and support the efficient operation of Technical Operations. Responsibilities
- Ensure ETOPS compliance for aircraft , inventory and Station Operations
- Manage the daily Pre Departure Service Check (PDSC) reconciliation
- Responsible liaison and functional support to support the organization including ,but not limited to Supply Chain, Quality, Production , Fleet Appearance and Station Operations
- Monitor daily aircraft schedule and movements
- Act as the primary contact for MOC/AOG Support for any out of service aircraft and provides direction to local operations team to status and address out of service aircraft
- Regional responsibility for the compliance of the SWA Maintenance Procedure Manual and FAA guidelines pertaining to SWA Production and Supply Chain
- Provide guidance and direction to contingent personnel including, but not limited to OCMP and Materials and ensure that proper compliance of Southwest policies and procedures
- Management and accountability of inventory assets including, but not limited to inventory, tooling, and services
- Ensure proper execution of audits, accountability of inventory transactions, and managing the subcontractors
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organizations strategic plan
- Ability to generate or use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance or Quality Operations
- Preferred: Working knowledge of accounting, financial, demand, and supply planning principles, including SIOP, IBP, and inventory optimization, with the ability to bridge Supply Chain Management, Finance, and Accounting
- Preferred: Experience leveraging operational, supply chain, and financial data to support forecasting, budgeting, cost management, performance reporting, and business decisions
- Preferred: Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions, drive alignment across multiple functional organizations, and lead without direct authority
- Preferred: Aviation, maintenance, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industry experience; familiarity with maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environments is a plus
- Preferred: Proficiency with data visualization, reporting, and data transformation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, Redshift, or similar platforms
Licensing/Certification
- Required: SIDA badge and meet all local airport requirements
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
- Ability to work flexible hours and meet deadlines successfully, at times with frequent interruptions; occasional weekend coverage
- Possible travel domestically and/or internationally 10-15%
Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $93,950 - $104,400* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
