THE POSITION

Are you ready to help shape policies that improve health services for students across Pennsylvania? As a Human Services Analyst with the Bureau of Policy, Analysis and Planning, you will help guide important decisions that support children who rely on Medical Assistance services. This position offers a meaningful way to use your analytical skills to improve school-based health services. Your work will contribute to stronger policies and better coordination across programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the development and improvement of Medical Assistance policies that affect school-based services for children, including those with disabilities. As a Human Services Analyst within the Division of Operations and Communications, you will perform the following duties:

  • Policy Review: Examine laws and regulations to determine policy changes needed for compliance
  • Policy Development: Create and revise guidance for providers and school-based programs
  • Program Analysis: Assess program goals and requirements to support effective coordination with education partners
  • Research Activities: Gather and evaluate information to support policy decisions and program improvements
  • Documentation Preparation: Draft reports, briefing materials, and written guidance for leadership and stakeholders
  • Issue Resolution: Address inquiries and recommend solutions to support consistent program operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs.
