Project Advisor, Transportation, Corpus Christi Halff has an immediate opening for an experience Professional Civil Engineer to fulfill the role of Project Advisor specializing in our Transportation practice located in Corpus Christi, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to provide strategic support to expand our transportation practice. The ideal candidate will bring at least 15 years of experience in TxDOT roadway and transportation project delivery. The successful candidate should have proven experience in managing complex TxDOT projects, developing new clients, managing a project team, and overseeing successful project delivery. - Manage multiple complex projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and schedule.
- Develops and implements mitigation plans to maintain project profitability.

- Advocates for clients by understanding their needs and delivering exceptional solutions.
- Assists in winning work by identifying, tracking, and pursing strategic transportation projects.
- Consults with and provides guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and structural repairs.
- Uses design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs; plans and designs other necessary and related systems and structures such as transportation or hydraulics.
- Sets design specifications by computing load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and similar parameters.
- Plans projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
- Reports and presents plans to audiences with a wide range of backgrounds and technical knowledge, translating engineering and scientific information into easily digestible concepts.
- Estimates materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.
- Collaborates with architects and contractors to ensure projects progress properly.
- Collaborates with surveyors (or directs and participates in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
- Monitors project progress and ensures design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET-accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- 15+ years of relevant transportation engineering experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
- Extensive knowledge of the TxDOT project development process, including advanced planning.
- Deep understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools related to the discipline.
- Ability to develop, track, and manage project schedules.
- Experience preparing contract documents, including scope and fee development.
- Ability to manage project budgets and communicate staffing needs.
- Experience developing proposals and participating in interviews for complex transportation projects.
- Extremely detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of calculus, trigonometry, and other advanced mathematics used for engineering analysis, design, and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of local and state codes and regulations related to civil engineering projects and practices.
- Strong written communication skills with architects, landscape architects, urban and regional planners, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to balance multiple, often competing priorities while making sound decisions.
- Ability to lead planners, surveyors, construction managers, and other project team members in implementing project plans.
- Experience monitoring and evaluating work at project sites to ensure compliance with design documents.
- Skilled in identifying and resolving complex engineering challenges through safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
- Proficiency with CAD and other engineering design, data collection, and analysis software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar productivity software.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations applicable to assigned projects.
