Description

Works as a member of the Legal Department to provide legal, operational, and administrative support to the General Counsel and other attorneys within the department. This position combines traditional paralegal responsibilities with operations, technology, process improvement, contract administration, corporate insurance administration, and management of the Bank's Medallion Signature Guarantee Program. The position is responsible for supporting commercial lending activities and related legal matters, managing key legal department programs and processes, leveraging legal technology and AI tools to improve efficiency, coordinating corporate insurance matters, administering the Bank's Medallion Signature Guarantee Program, assisting with contract review and administration, and serving as a key resource to internal business units.

Essential Functions



  • Drafts, reviews, modifies, and maintains commercial loan documentation to protect the Bank against legal and credit risk.
  • Assists with commercial lending transactions, collateral-related matters, and documentation issues.
  • Manages bank's subpoena processes and requests.
  • Manages bank's registered agent and service of process.
  • Supports General Counsel with bank's insurance program.
  • Maintains and manages relationships with outside counsel and law firms to augment Legal Department services.
  • Serves as a legal operations resource for the Legal Department.
  • Assists with implementation, administration, and optimization of legal technology platforms, matter management systems, document repositories, and workflow tools.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of Legal Department processes, procedures, templates, playbooks, and knowledge resources.
  • Coordinates legal vendor relationships, billing, invoices, budgets, and outside counsel management processes.
  • Tracks legal matters and assists with reporting and department metrics.
  • Assists attorneys with drafting, reviewing, organizing, and administering routine contracts and agreements.
  • Tracks certain contract renewals, notice periods, insurance requirements, and key obligations.
  • Serves as administrator for the Bank's Medallion Signature Guarantee Program


Qualifications:



  • Preferred 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Familiarity with legal research and billing databases.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage schedule in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail.


Compensation: $32.60 - $48.93 per hour

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, Washington. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
