Responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining web printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires advanced printing press experience, strong mechanical skills, color management knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment while meeting production and quality standards. Job Duties Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain gravure and multi-color web printing presses. Review job specifications and prepare presses for production runs. Perform make-ready tasks including mounting plates, installing cylinders, and adjusting registration settings. Monitor print quality, perform color corrections, and ensure products meet customer specifications. Troubleshoot press issues and make mechanical adjustments to minimize downtime. Complete routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and equipment inspections. Replace worn or damaged components as needed. Follow all quality, safety, and production procedures to maintain operational excellence. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position. Experience Requirements Previous printing press operating experience required. Experience setting up and operating gravure, web, offset, or multi-color printing presses preferred. Knowledge of press make-readies, color matching, registration adjustments, and print quality standards. Mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and equipment repair experience preferred. Experience using precision measuring tools, including micrometers. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand and walk for the majority of a 12-hour shift. Must be able to lift, move, and handle printing materials, plates, cylinders, and production supplies. Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and production equipment.
