Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant program at Allan Hancock College is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for in-person instructional vacancies. The assignment may include theory, lab, or clinical instruction at the Santa Maria campus or Lompoc Valley Center as needed. Positions may be available during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

- Demonstrate ability to identify and use learning outcomes and assessments that lead to course program improvements.
- Demonstrate ability to work with and assist students having a broad range of skills, motivation, academic or vocational goals.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communication and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
- Demonstrate experience implementing the interrelationship of critical thinking, reading, and writing.
- Knowledge of diverse learning styles and teaching strategies and demonstrate experience in implementing these strategies.
- Ability to supervise, teach, and evaluate students during their hands-on clinical rotations in skilled nursing and acute care facilities.
- Sign off on student's mastery of skills and maintain accurate, up-to-date logs of student attendance, hours, and clinical grades.

Minimum Qualifications
-
- Current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California
- Bachelor's degree and two years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse OR Associate's degree and six years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse OR the equivalent
- One year full-time nursing experience in long-term care
- Director of Staff Development Certificate OR completion of CDPH approved Director of Staff Development training program

Salary Information:
- Lecture Rate: $56.46 to $86.44 per hour depending upon education and experience
