Forklift Operator/Yard Associate We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator/Yard Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for moving and organizing inventory throughout the yard, assisting customers with product selection and loading, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, has forklift experience, and is committed to providing excellent customer service while supporting daily yard operations. Key Responsibilities Assist customers with locating, selecting, and loading products. Safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment to move products throughout the yard. Verify materials loaded against invoices, orders, and requisitions to ensure accuracy. Complete and process required paperwork and documentation. Organize and stock inventory in designated locations. Monitor inventory levels and help ensure products remain accessible and well-stocked. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehouse, yard, distribution, lumberyard, or similar environment. OSHA Forklift Certification or ability to maintain certification. Ability to safely operate forklift equipment and other material-handling equipment. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to read and understand invoices, work orders, and requisitions. Basic math and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Previous experience in a building materials, construction, lumber, or distribution environment. Knowledge of inventory control and yard operations. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical labor throughout the workday. Ability to climb in and out of forklift equipment and operate controls safely. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise. Work Environment This position is based primarily in an outdoor yard environment and requires working in varying weather conditions. Employees must be comfortable working around moving equipment, vehicles, and construction or building materials. In addition to the base wage listed, team members are also eligible to earn an additional incentive subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law.
