The Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in the Transportation sector supports the planning, design, and delivery of transportation and public infrastructure projects. This role works alongside licensed engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical design solutions. This is a full-time position paid bi-weekly on a salary basis.

Responsibilities

    Assist in the design and development of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects, including roadway improvements, intersections, and corridor enhancements
  • Prepare engineering calculations, layouts, and supporting technical documentation under the direction of licensed engineers
  • Uses computerized design software and other relevant tools to prepare design assignments
  • Apply applicable local, state, and federal design standards and criteria to project work
  • Collaborate with team members on design specifications and timelines
  • Perform field observation work when necessary, under minimal supervision
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles related to roadway design and public infrastructure
  • 1 year of experience in transportation design preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and OpenRoads preferred
  • Excellent client and team communication
