Position Summary
The Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining integrations across the organization's Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role ensures seamless connectivity between cloud services, onprem systems, thirdparty applications, identity platforms, and automation workflows. The Specialist will work closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Business Technology teams to modernize processes, standardize system interactions, and enhance data flow across the enterprise. This role also administers the Microsoft 365 tenant and serves as the administrator and governance owner of the Microsoft Power Platform, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant use of Power Apps, Power Automate, and related services across the enterprise.
This position is ideal for a technically strong, processminded professional who enjoys solving complex integration challenges, building scalable automation, and improving operational efficiency through M365centric solutions.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
Microsoft 365 Administration
Administer and configure Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune.
- Manage tenant-wide settings, licensing, and service health, and implement changes in line with change-management and security standards.
Microsoft 365 Integration & Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations across Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID).
- Build and manage automated workflows using Power Automate, Graph API, webhooks, and service connectors.
- Integrate M365 with businesscritical thirdparty systems (HRIS, ERP, CRM, security tools, productivity platforms).
- Create standardized provisioning/deprovisioning processes using automation and directory synchronization multiple IDPs including Entra and Okta.
Power Platform Administration & Governance
- Administer and govern the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and related services.
- Manage environments, licensing and capacity, connectors, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and platform security controls.
- Establish governance standards and processes that enable business-led app development while meeting security and compliance requirements.
- Partner with application-development teams to support their solutions while retaining ownership of platform administration and governance.
- Monitor platform health, usage, and adoption, and recommend improvements that increase value and reduce risk.
Identity & Access Integration
- Implement and maintain identity integrations through Entra ID, including SSO, SCIM provisioning, conditional access flows, and groupbased policy automation.
- Support lifecycle integrations that rely on identity events (role changes, onboarding, offboarding, access certifications).
Systems Architecture & Interoperability
- Assess system requirements and design integration pathways that enhance data flow, reduce redundancy, and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure integrations align with architectural standards, security policies, and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for modernizing integration patterns.
Monitoring, Logging & Compliance
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for integration flows using native M365 tools, SIEM platforms, and audit capabilities.
- Ensure integrations comply with organizational security standards, retention policies, data protection requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain documentation for integration architecture, workflows, dependencies, and change history.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose and resolve integration failures, data mismatches, API errors, permission issues, and workflow exceptions.
- Serve as an escalation point for M365related automation, Microsoft 365 administration, Power Platform governance, identity integrations, security configurations, and system interoperability issues.
- Partner with vendors when needed to address complex platform or connector issues.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with business units to translate functional needs into technical integration requirements.
- Facilitate user adoption of integrated processes through clear documentation, training, and changemanagement support.
- Participate in crossfunctional projects involving data modernization, automation, workflow redesign, or system migrations.
Qualifications

- 4-6+ years of experience in systems integration, cloud administration, or enterprise IT.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 services, Entra ID identity management, and Power Platform administration and governance.
- Experience building and managing APIs, connectors, automation flows, and crosssystem data interactions.
- Solid understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect), SCIM bridges, and security controls.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to isolate and resolve complex integration issues.
Preferred
- Experience supporting hybrid environments, multisite organizations, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, audit logging, incident response workflows, and enterprise security tools.
- Microsoft certifications (MS900, SC300, AZ104, PL300, PL400) preferred.
- Background process automation, or enterprise application architecture is a plus.
- Experience administering or integrating Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Experience with the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit, Managed Environments, and application lifecycle management (ALM).
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, and RESTful services.
