Job Summary:

As a member of the BDOADVANTAGE team, the Extraction Solutions Experienced Senior is responsible for leading complex data extraction and transformation efforts across multiple client ERP systems and guiding the work of associates on assigned projects.

This role supports the design, development, and implementation of standardized ETL workflows, tools, and methodologies used by audit professionals. The position requires a strong technical foundation, the ability to independently solve complex data challenges, and a focus on improving data quality, consistency, and scalability.

Job Duties:



  • Leads engagement teams and clients in implementing and supporting data extraction tools, workflows, and solutions across a variety of ERP systems
  • Independently manages the process of identifying and extracting client data based on analytic requirements using data analysis, research, and advanced technical extraction skills
  • Engages directly with client personnel and engagement teams to understand ERP-specific business rules and makes extraction design decisions to apply those rules in the extraction
  • Designs, builds, and maintains standardized ETL workflows and data preparation routines for routing into BDOADVANTAGE analytics platforms
  • Reviews associate work product for accuracy, completeness, and documentation sufficiency, providing timely and actionable feedback
  • Plans and tracks assigned project tasks, timelines, and hours, and communicates risks, issues, and blockers to the manager
  • Identifies, triages, and resolves complex support requests, escalating with proposed solutions as appropriate
  • Coaches and mentors associates on extraction techniques, tools, and best practices
  • Recommends and implements improvements to extraction methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Establishes and maintains customer satisfaction methods and information
  • Other duties as required


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, preferred


Experience:



  • Four (4) or more years of experience with data extraction, data engineering, ETL development, or analytic development, required
  • Audit, assurance, or accounting client service experience, preferred
  • Experience working with large-scale financial or transactional datasets, preferred
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., audit teams, clients, technical teams) to define data requirements and deliver solutions, required
  • Experience reviewing work product and coaching or mentoring junior team members, preferred


Software:

Technical



  • Two (2) or more years of experience with any of the following ETL resources, required

    • Power BI, Fabric, or Alteryx
    • Azure Data Factory or Databricks
    • Azure SQL Database
    • Azure Storage Accounts / Data Lakes

  • Alteryx, MS Excel and Power BI data cleansing techniques, required
  • Experience integrating data from ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or QBO using analytics tools like Power BI, Alteryx, and Tableau, preferred
  • Working knowledge of various ERP systems and accounting packages, preferred
  • Ability to write SQL queries and manage large data sets within SQL Server, preferred

  • Ability to perform data quality checks and identify anomalies in datasets
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong understanding of testing and quality assurance for data extraction processes
  • Ability to review the work of others and provide constructive feedback



Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $101,000 - $135,000

Maryland Range: $101,000 - $135,000

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $101,000 - $135,000
