The School of Mathematics (https://math.gatech.edu/) at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, Georgia, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mathematical Biology to start in August 2027. Applicants will be considered at the assistant professor position. Mathematical Biology at Georgia Tech As one of the world's leading institutions in engineering and technology, Georgia Tech provides an especially fertile environment for cross-disciplinary research. Current School of Mathematics faculty have a broad range of application interests, including immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, and neuroscience. Complementary strengths across Georgia Tech include biomedical engineering, biophysics, biochemistry, and data analysis in the life sciences. We seek exceptional candidates working at the interface of mathematics and biology, with particular emphasis on mathematical depth and originality in conjunction with genuine engagement with biological challenges. We welcome a broad range of mathematical approaches, including algebra, geometry, topology, and discrete mathematics, as well as applied and computational mathematics, dynamical systems, and stochastics. The School's cross-disciplinary engagement is reflected in its participation in multiple interdisciplinary PhD programs, in the new Medical Innovation Hub, and in the new Institute for Neuroscience, Neurotechnology, and Society (INNS, https://neuro.gatech.edu/). The School also led the Southeast Center for Mathematics and Biology, which was funded through 2025 by the NSF Simons MathBioSys initiative. Responsibilities
Successful candidates are expected to: Develop an internationally recognized research program Collaborate across the university in research and grant efforts Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses Engage with curriculum development to meet on-going needs for training a STEM focused student body Deliver service to the department, Institute, and profession. A PhD or its equivalent in a mathematical science is required for this position. Preferred Qualifications
