Description
- Inspect and safely operate the overhead crane, controls, rigging, racks, and lifting devices; report defects and remove unsafe equipment from service.
- Move balanced and secured aluminum loads through the anodizing line within rated capacities, required clearances, and established communication procedures.
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and process specifications to set current, voltage, cycle time, and tank sequence.
- Monitor tank chemistry and operating conditions; perform required testing, authorized additions, documentation, and corrective actions.
- Inspect finished parts and process equipment, record production and quality results, and promptly report abnormalities.
- Coordinate with line personnel, Quality, Maintenance, Waste Treatment, and supervision to maintain safe and efficient production flow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
- Ability to complete required overhead-crane and rigging training and demonstrate safe operation.
- Ability to judge distance and clearance and safely position loads around tanks, equipment, and personnel.
- Ability to read work instructions, identify abnormal conditions, perform basic calculations, and accurately document results.
- Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, basic computer skills, and effective communication.
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
Experience Requirements
- Prior overhead-crane, rigging, material-handling, metal-finishing, or anodizing-line experience is preferred but not required. Equivalent related training or manufacturing experience will be considered. Company qualification on assigned crane and lifting equipment is required before independent operation.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull material and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. (23 kg), with assistance or approved handling equipment used for heavier or awkward loads.
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete and perform frequent reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and handling of controls throughout an 8-12-hour shift.
- Ability to maintain the visual attention, depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and situational awareness necessary to control suspended loads and verify clear travel paths.
- Ability to work around moving equipment, suspended loads, open process tanks, wet surfaces, heat, fumes, and chemicals while following required safeguards and work practices.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, face shield, chemical-resistant gloves and clothing, safety footwear, and hearing protection, for the duration required by the task or area.
