We are looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Corporate team as part of HNI's Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence. You will connect talented people with meaningful opportunities across HNI's operating companies and partner with leaders to build teams that move our business forward. Through full-cycle recruiting, strategic advising, and continuous improvement, you will help deliver strong hiring outcomes and a welcoming experience for internal and external candidates.
What You Will Do:
- Own full-cycle recruitment for professional, salaried positions, from intake and sourcing through screening, interviewing, selection debriefs, offer negotiation, and hiring completion.
- Lead complex searches, including leadership-level, niche, hard-to-fill, and multi-site roles, using tailored sourcing and assessment strategies.
- Partner with hiring managers, Member & Community Relations, and other stakeholders to understand current and anticipated workforce needs and recommend short- and long-term recruiting strategies.
- Share market intelligence on talent availability, competitor activity, and compensation trends to establish realistic expectations and inform hiring and offer decisions.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines through LinkedIn, professional networks, referrals, job boards, social media, and other sourcing channels.
- Coach hiring managers on structured interviewing and consistent, equitable assessment practices while keeping candidates informed, engaged, and supported throughout the process.
- Own performance against recruiting metrics and service-level targets, including time to fill and requisition aging; proactively address risks, escalate barriers, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence initiatives, strengthen recruiting processes, and serve as a resource and mentor to other team members as needed.
What You Have:
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience supporting professional, salaried positions across multiple functions and organizational levels.
- Proven success partnering with hiring managers and leadership to support organizational success through talent acquisition.
- Advanced proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, including advanced and Boolean searches, projects, pipeline management, and metrics.
- Expertise using a variety of sourcing methods and tools to identify, attract, and engage qualified talent.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, including experience managing complex offers through acceptance.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations affecting recruiting, including equal employment opportunity, pay transparency, and immigration and sponsorship requirements.
- Preferred: A blend of agency and in-house recruiting experience, along with experience recruiting for leadership-level or hard-to-fill technical roles.
What You're Good At:
- Being a trusted advisor: You work independently while consulting closely with hiring managers and leaders to translate business needs into effective hiring strategies.
- Influencing thoughtfully: You offer clear recommendations and constructively challenge assumptions to align on realistic candidate profiles, timelines, and compensation.
- Engaging candidates: You craft compelling outreach and use every conversation to help candidates understand the value of HNI career opportunities.
- Managing competing priorities: You efficiently handle a high volume of requisitions while maintaining attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Adapting to change: You adjust your approach as business priorities, hiring needs, and market conditions evolve.
- Improving results: You use recruiting data to identify barriers, take action, and strengthen hiring outcomes.
- Collaborating and sharing expertise: You build productive relationships, support teammates, and contribute to consistent practices across operating companies.
