Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Planning Clerk to be based out of Houston, TX. Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the Planning Clerk's focus will be to assist with planning, scheduling & reconciling appropriate work production and associated duties. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:

• 
  

  Assist team with planning and scheduling work orders for Operations.

  
  
• Assist team with developing and publishing rolling 8-week capacity schedule on all work centers.
• Utilize daily production reports for managing workloads and communicating manufacturing status.
• Reconciling MRS (Manufacturing Resource System) and production order confirmation.
• Assist with team to ensure that customer orders are scheduled in a manner that reduces backorders and meets customer needs.
• Assist team with quoting product lead times.
• Support the Production Control Manager in the weekly scheduling for operations.
• Routine clerical duties to support department activities.
• Function as the backup for others in the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-3 years administrative planning experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Background in inventory management and scheduling preferred.
• Lean/Kanban experience preferred.
• Accuracy and thoroughness required with great attention to detail.
• Strong computer and mathematical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work through challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented, team player.
• Self-motivated and be able to work without supervision.

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Complete any required training.
• Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $22.00/hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
