Field Support Specialist

This is an onsite position based in Bloomington, MN.

Are you a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or experienced ophthalmic surgical professional looking for a role that uses your OR knowledge without spending every day in the operating room?

Sightpath Medical is looking for someone with cataract/ophthalmology OR experience who enjoys organization, inventory management, and making sure surgical teams have the right instruments and equipment when they need them.

In this role, you'll help manage and track surgical instruments and equipment used for cataract procedures, coordinate repairs and maintenance, maintain accurate inventory records, and support our field teams. Your clinical experience will help you understand what our surgical teams need and ensure instruments and equipment are properly maintained, available, and ready for use.

This could be a great fit for someone who:

  • Is a CST or former CST who wants to move away from the traditional OR environment
  • Has experience with ophthalmology, cataract surgery, or surgical instruments
  • Enjoys organization, inventory, and keeping things running smoothly
  • Wants to use their clinical knowledge in a more office/operations-focused role
  • Is detail-oriented and comfortable tracking equipment, repairs, maintenance, and inventory
  • Understands the importance of sterile technique and proper handling of surgical instruments

What you'll do:

  • Track equipment by serial number and location
  • Coordinate instrument repairs, maintenance, and refurbishments
  • Maintain equipment and service records
  • Support ordering and inventory of surgical instruments
  • Help manage unassigned equipment
  • Coordinate emergency shipments when needed

Why this role may be a great next step:
You already know the OR. You understand surgical instruments, cataract procedures, and what surgical teams need to be successful. This role allows you to take that knowledge out of the OR and into an organized, operations-focused position where you can manage the equipment and instruments that keep procedures running smoothly.

Ideal background:
CST, Surgical Technologist, Ophthalmic Surgical Technician, Ophthalmology OR Technician, Sterile Processing Technician with strong instrument knowledge, or similar surgical/clinical experience.
