KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Tax Ignition to join our Ignition practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide management consulting services focused on corporate tax function operations, including tax function benchmarking analyses, operational performance and efficiency reviews, process improvement initiatives, and preparation of deliverable reports for a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to emerging businesses
  • Lead and manage client engagements related to tax operations, accounting methods, fixed assets, tax technology, and related processes supporting compliance, reporting, and tax planning objectives
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team as a tax solution architect, helping clients improve the efficiency of tax processes, better leverage technology, and operate at a world-class level
  • Interface directly with clients and be responsible for delivering high-quality service, technical insight, and practical recommendations to improve tax function effectiveness and performance
  • Work with diverse teams of tax professionals across geographies, build and develop client relationships, and collaborate with specialists across tax, accounting, technology/IT, M&A, FP&A, Treasury, and shared service functions
  • Participate in and contribute to market, business development, and practice growth activities, including identifying opportunities, supporting proposals, and expanding client relationships
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of recent general corporate tax experience working with large businesses in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm
  • Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in Taxation and/or Master's in Taxation, Accounting, or Business Administration from an accredited college/university; Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
  • Experience with corporate taxation, consolidations, partnerships, and ASC 740; interest in technology and its ability to improve and redefine the work of the tax function
  • Proven experience with fixed asset software including Sage FAS, Bloomberg's BNA, PowerTax, and similar platforms
  • Excellent process consulting skillset and a passion for improving the performance of clients' tax operations; strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information succinctly, prepare detailed reports, work cross-functionally with client and KPMG teams, and function as an innovative self-starter
  • Appreciation for and understanding of technology's ability to improve all aspects of tax function operations; capability to manage multiple engagements and client service teams, work independently and remotely, and travel as needed
