Responsible for providing moderate range of coordination for Research studies conducted at the Medical Center. Assists with recruitment, enrollment, grant submissions, research data collection and study coordination. Performs intra-operative monitoring and serves as liaison with the IRB and the internal and external funding agencies. Ensures accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and required obligations to patient/subject, Principal Investigator, research team and sponsor. Interfaces directly with patients/subjects and Principal Investigators in support of the clinical trials if applicable. Works under general supervision. Job Responsibilities: This position leads the planning, implementation, and day-to-day management of clinical and nonclinical research activities, ensuring studies are conducted efficiently, ethically, and in full compliance with applicable regulatory and institutional requirements. Key responsibilities include overseeing the identification, recruitment, screening, informed consent, enrollment, and ongoing follow-up of eligible research participants. The role directs study visits and protocol-required procedures, contributes to grant and funding submissions, and is accountable for the collection, review, maintenance, and integrity of research data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. When applicable, the position performs intraoperative monitoring and manages the coordination of clinical trials, investigational procedures, and other study-specific activities. The position serves as a central point of coordination for Principal Investigators, research participants, clinical teams, sponsors, funding agencies, and other internal and external stakeholders. It acts as a primary liaison with the Institutional Review Board (IRB), internal departments, external funding agencies, and study sponsors to facilitate communication, drive timely submissions and approvals, manage protocol updates, and resolve study-related operational issues. Additional responsibilities include maintaining complete, audit-ready regulatory and study documentation; monitoring recruitment and enrollment performance; tracking study progress, deadlines, and deliverables; and preparing required reports. The role independently coordinates research activities, prepares materials for study visits, responds to participant and team inquiries, and works directly with clinical departments to ensure protocol requirements are operationalized effectively. The individual is responsible for ensuring that all assigned research activities are executed in accordance with approved protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), HIPAA, institutional policies, federal and state regulations, sponsor requirements, and ethical obligations to research participants. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and the ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced research environment. This position operates with a high degree of independence and is expected to exercise discretion, initiative, and decision-making authority in managing assigned research operations. The individual identifies and addresses routine and moderately complex study needs, collaborates across multidisciplinary teams, and escalates only high-risk, highly complex, or exceptional issues to the Principal Investigator or research leadership as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience working with Research Protocols. Experience working in an academic medical center environment Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,299.99 - $66,300.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
