Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and discreet Senior Executive Administrative Assistant / Human Resources to support the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT).

This high-visibility role is ideal for an accomplished administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can balance executive-level administrative support with project coordination, communications, procurement, and operational support for the Human Resources organization. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the CHRO and HRLT, a central point of coordination for HR activities, and a front-facing representative of SRNL Human Resources.

The position requires exceptional organization, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality.


  • Provide comprehensive, executive-level administrative and operational support to the CHRO and HRLT.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the CHRO office, including prioritizing requests, coordinating workflow, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Schedule, coordinate, track, and support meetings, interviews, events, conferences, and other HR functions; prepare agendas, presentation materials, meeting notes, action items, and follow-up communications as needed.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, including itineraries, travel authorizations, reimbursement documentation, and conference attendance.
  • Compose, prepare, edit, and distribute routine and non-routine correspondence, communications, reports, presentations, and other documents, including materials supporting Board of Directors meetings.
  • Review incoming correspondence and requests; determine appropriate distribution, response, escalation, or follow-up using sound independent judgment.
  • Serve as a central liaison among HR teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners, including the Department of Energy (DOE), DOE contractors, Battelle, and other collaborators.
  • Act as a resource for questions related to HR processes, organizational procedures, and policies; communicate requirements clearly and refer or escalate matters as appropriate.
  • Identify communication gaps, workflow issues, and emerging concerns; recommend practical solutions and elevate matters requiring leadership attention.
  • Coordinate and support HR projects, programs, and task-based activities; help centralize information and establish effective processes for tracking work and deliverables.
  • Maintain the HR monthly reporting schedule and support the timely completion of organizational deliverables.
  • Maintain and update HR SharePoint sites, project documentation, internal webpages, organizational charts, databases, and other HR systems and records, in coordination with HR staff and Communications as appropriate.
  • Deliver responsive and high-impact administrative and project support during periods of increased demand.
  • Track time away and support updates to viewing status within the electronic time reporting system for the assigned organization.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and well-organized business-sensitive and confidential records and files.
  • Stay current on office technologies, collaboration tools, and administrative best practices to improve efficiency and service.
  • Demonstrate SRNL values, standards of conduct, ethics, and environmental, health, and safety principles in all responsibilities.
  • Perform other related duties and special assignments as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field and ten or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience supporting executive-level leadership, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with 12 or more years of relevant administrative experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex calendars, meetings, travel, correspondence, and executive office operations.
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and sound decision-making while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive, professional relationships and work collaboratively across functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience using SharePoint and other collaboration or document-management tools.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, tact, integrity, and discretion. Ability to maintain a consistent work schedule during core business hours and respond effectively to changing organizational priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting senior executives, human resources leadership, or a complex corporate or government-related organization.
  • Experience with procurement processes, purchase requisitions, subcontract administration, expenditure tracking, or related financial/administrative systems.
  • Experience with Power BI, SharePoint administration, webpage maintenance, and/or enterprise reporting tools.
  • Experience working with the Department of Energy, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), a National Laboratory, or a DOE contractor.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, evolving Human Resources environment.
