  • $90- $120K annually
  • Potential 90-day performance-based raise

Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily food manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products. This role provides leadership across production, warehouse, sanitation, inventory control, maintenance coordination, food safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Manager ensures compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, and company standards while driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve production schedules, quality standards, and labor efficiency targets.
  • Monitor production processes to maximize throughput while minimizing waste and downtime.
  • Ensure labor resources are properly allocated to meet operational demands.
  • Drive accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance performance.
  • Partner with Managers, Production Supervisors and Leads to maintain efficient workflow execution.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Utilize KPIs to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Analyze labor, yield, waste, and productivity metrics to improve operational performance.
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, USDA, FDA, SQF, and company food safety programs.

Safety & Compliance

  • Support all internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain production environments that meet sanitation and food safety requirements.
  • Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety observations and incident investigations.
  • Champion employee safety programs and proactive risk reduction activities.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental and workplace regulations.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, USDA, FDA, and food safety regulations.
  • Experience managing multiple departments and large hourly workforces.
  • Proficiency with ERP, inventory management, and production scheduling systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in fresh-cut produce, ready-to-eat foods, commissary, or refrigerated food manufacturing environments.
