Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Otolaryngology

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients in Pediatric Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine
  • Obtaining comprehensive patient histories and performing physical exams for both new and return patients.
  • Performing pre-operative, post operative and urgent ORL evaluations in the ORL clinic.
  • Assisting with procedures both in the clinic setting and in the satellite operating room (Waltham).
  • Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and communicate effectively with all members of the team.
  • Ordering necessary diagnostic tests, consultations and procedures and issuing appropriate prescriptions/medications.
  • Ordering sleep studies and assisting in management of sleep and circadian disorders
  • Actively participating in Department of ORL educational meetings and conferences.
  • Working 40 hours per week: Four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday. Will rotate primarily between Boston and Waltham. Occasional shifts at either Weymouth, North Dartmouth, Needham, Lexington, and Peabody as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • A Master of Science in Nursing or Master of Physician Assistant Studies
Experience
  • Previous APP experience is preferred
  • Prior Otolaryngology/Pediatric experience strongly preferred
  • New grad PAs will be considered
  • For NPs must have 1 year of RN experience, required
Licensure/Certifications
  • A current Massachusetts PA or NP license
  • If a Nurse Practitioner a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification, provided by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
