Position Title: Warehouse Packaging / Assembly Associate
Wage: $16.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday) We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse & Packaging / Assembly Associate to join our team in Houston, TX (77088). This position is primarily responsible for preparing parts and components for parcel shipment, with some assembly and general warehouse duties. Most of the work will involve accurately picking, counting, packaging, labeling, and preparing parts for customer orders. The ideal candidate is organized, takes pride in accurate work, and can maintain a steady pace while ensuring orders are packaged correctly and ready for shipment. The successful candidate will be someone who is reliable, organized, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. This is a hands-on position where accuracy is important. The right person will take ownership of ensuring that the correct parts are picked, properly packaged, and ready to reach the customer in good condition. Warehouse Packaging / Assembly Associate Responsibilities: - Pick and prepare parts and components for customer parcel orders - Verify part numbers, quantities, and order information for accuracy - Package parts securely and appropriately for shipment - Select the proper boxes, packing materials, and protective materials based on the items being shipped - Label and stage completed packages for shipment - Perform assembly of parts and components as needed - Maintain an organized and clean work area - Identify damaged, missing, or incorrect parts and report issues to the appropriate personnel - Work efficiently to meet daily shipping and order-processing requirements - Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment Requirements for Warehouse Packaging / Assembly Associate: - Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 40 lbs - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday - Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and handle parts and packaging materials - Ability to safely move boxes and materials throughout the work area - Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as picking, packing, labeling, and light assembly - Reliable and dependable attendance - Ability to read and follow written instructions - Basic ability to identify and distinguish between different parts and part numbers - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team - Ability to maintain an organized work area - Willingness to learn company-specific products, parts, and procedures - Previous warehouse, packaging, manufacturing, or assembly experience is preferred but not required - Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, packaging, or light manufacturing environment - Familiarity with parcel shipping and packaging procedures preferred - Experience working with part numbers, inventory, or pick lists is a plus - Basic computer skills - Mechanical aptitude or experience with basic hand tools preferred IND153 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
