Position Title: Packer
Wage: $18.00 - $19.50/hour Shift: 1st or 3rd Hours: 6:00am - 2:00pm or 10:00pm - 6:00am Join a dynamic manufacturing team in Des Plaines, IL as a Packer, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring high-quality packaging and efficient production flow. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced plastics environment and develop valuable skills. Packer Responsibilities: - Read and interpret blueprint drawings, specification sheets, and shop orders to determine packaging requirements and product specifications - Properly assemble, count, and package finished products into cartons or boxes according to specifications - Use measuring devices such as calipers and gauges to verify product quality and compliance with standards - Seal, label, and stack boxes onto skids, ensuring correct placement and handling - Notify team leaders or extrusion operators when products do not meet quality standards - Maintain a clean, organized workspace following safety policies and procedures - Support line setup, shutdown, and startup activities as needed - Work efficiently across multiple production lines, maintaining safety and quality standards - Report safety, environmental, or quality concerns promptly Requirements for Packer: - Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift - Basic math and computer skills - Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal - No prior experience required; training will be provided IND133 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
