Application Window Open date: October 8, 2026 Next review date: Saturday, Nov 7, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Saturday, Apr 8, 2028 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting a pediatric cardiologist to join the Advanced Cardiac Therapies (ACT) program at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or Health Sciences (HS) Clinical faculty series. Academic rank and series will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary program providing comprehensive care for children with cardiomyopathy, heart failure, ventricular assist devices (VADs), and heart transplantation. Clinical responsibilities will include participation in the Pediatric Cardiology ACT inpatient service and outpatient ACT clinics, with opportunities to provide care across UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland and affiliated outreach sites. The faculty member will work collaboratively with pediatric cardiologists, cardiac intensivists, cardiac surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other multidisciplinary colleagues involved in the care of children with advanced heart disease. The position offers opportunities to contribute to the continued development of UCSF's clinical programs in pediatric heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the faculty member will contribute to the academic mission of the Division of Cardiology and Department of Pediatrics through teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners. Opportunities for scholarly activity may include clinical or translational research, quality improvement, medical education, and other academic pursuits aligned with the successful candidate's interests and the needs of the program. Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care. The total compensation for this position ranges from $300,000 to $474,000. Total compensation at the University of California, San Francisco includes your base salary, which is determined by your rank and step at appointment, and negotiated pay for Health Sciences Compensation Plan members. Faculty who are members of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan may also be eligible for additional incentive pay.
