Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a .NET Software Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on full-stack engineer who can navigate a complex legacy financial application, deliver secure enhancements, resolve production issues, and collaborate effectively with an Agile delivery team.

This position supports the General Services Administration (GSA) Public Buildings Service (PBS) Reimbursable Work Authorization (RWA) Entry and Tracking Application (RETA) program, which provides operations and maintenance and enhancement support for a mission-critical financial web application. RETA enables agencies to manage reimbursable work authorizations and cost estimates and integrates with financial systems including Pegasys and FMIS.

Work Location: Remote

Shift Schedule: 8am - 5pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

    Design, develop, maintain, and test features for a web-based financial application built on Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • Implement interactive front-end functionality using JavaScript and jQuery and integrate it with ASP.NET application logic.
  • Develop secure server-side business logic in C# using sound object-oriented design and maintainable architectural patterns.
  • Build, consume, and troubleshoot SOAP-based web services and XML integrations with internal and external financial systems.
  • Develop and optimize ADO.NET data-access components and Oracle SQL/PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and transactions.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, refine user stories, estimate tasks, and deliver sprint commitments.
  • Write and maintain unit tests, conduct peer code reviews, and support integration and deployment activities.
  • Investigate and resolve production defects, performance bottlenecks, and financial data-integrity issues.
  • Collaborate with the product owner/business analyst, tester, and other team members to translate complex financial requirements into working software.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including designs, interface specifications, and deployment procedures.
  • Apply secure coding practices, including input validation and protection of sensitive data.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 8 years professional experience or Associates degree and 10 years professional experience or Masters Degreen and 6 years professional experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years professional experience.
  • US Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Professional experience building web applications using Microsoft .NET Framework and C#.
  • Hands-on JavaScript and jQuery experience.
  • Experience developing and integrating SOAP web services using XML and related standards.
  • Experience using ADO.NET for database access, connection management, parameterized queries, and transactions.
  • Oracle database development experience, including SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, or troubleshooting applications in IIS.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, estimating stories, and delivering sprint-based work.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design, web application architecture, version control, and code review practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ASP.NET Web Forms and/or MVC, WCF, and Web API.
  • Experience with RESTful services in addition to SOAP.
  • Experience with .NET and Oracle performance profiling and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience maintaining complex legacy financial applications, scheduled Windows jobs, or multi-system data interfaces.
  • Familiarity with GSA RETA, RWA workflows, Pegasys, or FMIS.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
