Percent of Effort: 50-100% Rank and responsibilities: will be aligned with each candidate's educational background and clinical expertise. Location: Position required to be performed in-person at the College of Nursing on the University of Iowa Campus The University of Iowa College of Nursing seeks applications for a faculty position (open rank and track) with expertise in adult-gerontology primary care advanced practice nursing. This is an academic-year (9-month) appointment, with effort and rank commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Opportunities for clinical practice engagement may be available and supported as part of the appointment. Position Overview Faculty in this role will contribute to the College's teaching, clinical practice, service, and professional productivity missions. The successful candidate will participate in a collaborative, interdisciplinary academic environment, preparing undergraduate and graduate students for leadership in complex healthcare systems and advancing innovations in patient care and education. Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach primarily in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program through classroom, clinical, simulation, and/or laboratory instruction. Teaching responsibilities may also include MSN and BSN nursing students based on departmental needs and faculty expertise.
- Integrate active learning strategies and evidence-based teaching approaches
- Promote development of critical thinking, clinical judgment, decision-making, and professional values
- Supervise and mentor students in clinical and academic settings
- Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation
Practice & Clinical Engagement
- Maintain current clinical practice expertise aligned with adult-gerontology primary care
- Support integration of clinical expertise into teaching and curriculum
- Contribute to strengthening academic-practice partnerships and community engagement initiatives
Service & Professional Contributions
- Participate in college, university, and professional service activities
- Contribute to programmatic initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Engage in professional productivity (e.g., scholarship, presentations, policy contributions), consistent with rank and track

| Education Requirement: |
- Earned doctorate in nursing or related field (or terminal degree appropriate to track); Candidates with a terminal degree in another discipline may be considered if they also hold an MSN with an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner focus and meet all other position requirements.

| Required Qualifications: |
- Eligibility for or current advanced practice board certification in adult or adult-gerontology primary care
- Demonstrated experience or strong potential in teaching graduate students
- Clinical expertise in adult-gerontology or primary care nursing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated by the ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors to provide excellent customer service and maintain working relationships.
- Eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Iowa. Selected candidate must complete the State of Iowa Registered Nurse licensure process upon appointment.

- Previous experience in lab or simulation
- Active clinical practice role aligned with adult-gerontology primary care advanced practice nursing.
