Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • As a BMET II, you'll support the Medical Maintenance Operations Division in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania (MMOD-PA), under the U.S. Army Medical Logistics Command.

    You'll perform sustainment-level maintenance on standard and non-standard medical devices, helping ensure equipment meets operational and technical requirements.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Inspecting new, used, and reconditioned medical equipment to assess condition and serviceability.

    • Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, identifying required repairs, and restoring equipment to serviceable condition.

    • Performing repairs, overhauls, calibrations, and preventive maintenance checks and services.

    • Following applicable technical guidance, maintenance procedures, and established quality requirements.

    • Utilizing authorized Army maintenance and logistics systems, including Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), and Global Combat Support System (GCSS).

    • Collaborating with fellow technicians and team members to complete assigned maintenance activities.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

We're looking for a skilled technician with hands-on biomedical equipment maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to quality.

  • Required Experience and Qualifications:

    • Minimum of three years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.

    • Working knowledge of medical equipment inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, preventive maintenance, and overhaul.

    • Strong communication and time-management skills.

    • U.S. citizenship.

    • Ability to satisfy required background investigations, including NACI, NCIC, and applicable credit screening, and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).

    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

    • Availability to travel up to 35%

    Education or Certification - One of the Following Is Required

    Graduation from the Department of Defense Medical Equipment Repairer Course; OR

    • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification; OR

    • Associate of Applied Science in Medical Equipment Technology.

Pay and Benefits

Work Schedule and Travel

  • Location: Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania
  • Work Schedule: 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Travel: Up to 35% travel to East Coast National Guard sites, with assignments typically lasting one to three weeks with paid Per Diem

Compensation and Benefits

  • This position is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA).
  • Base Hourly Pay: $32.00-$37.00

  • Potential Combined Hourly Value: $37.09-$42.09, when the full stated Health & Welfare amount applies.

Health & Welfare benefits are separate from base wages and are not necessarily paid as additional cash compensation.

Individual compensation is discussed during the hiring process based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and position requirements.
