This role is onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at our client's office in downtown Detroit. In this role, you will play a central part in an internal technology modernization initiative-specifically driving a high-volume migration of internal HR/People Operations applications from Microsoft-based tools to Google Workspace solutions. You will be responsible for hands-on development, transforming legacy workflows into scalable, secure, and user-friendly digital experiences. This is an ideal role for a developer who excels across both the Microsoft Power Platform and Google Workspace Developer ecosystems and thrives when given end-to-end ownership of development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Modernization & Development: Rebuild, transform, and modernize internal business applications and automated workflows from Microsoft Power Apps/Power Automate into Google Workspace solutions using Google AppSheet and Google Apps Script.
- Full Lifecycle Delivery: Lead requirements gathering, design, hands-on coding, end-to-end testing, validation, deployment, and hypercare support for assigned application projects.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner directly with global HR, People Operations, and business process owners to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Project Ownership: Manage intake and prioritization independently, serving as the lead developer for assigned workflows while collaborating closely with a dedicated internal tech team.
- Continuous Improvement: Document technical architecture, workflows, and user processes; identify opportunities to streamline employee digital journeys.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 1-5 years of professional, hands-on application development experience in an enterprise or team-based setting (not open to new graduates without prior industry experience).
- Core Technical Expertise (Must-Haves):
- Communication & Collaboration: Proven ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, gather and clarify business requirements, and work in an agile, collaborative environment.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate or SharePoint administration/workflows.
- Experience with Jira, GitHub, or modern version control/issue-tracking systems.
- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or modern CMS platforms.
- Exposure to or interest in integrating modern AI-assisted productivity and automation tools.
