Senior Security Officer- Mobile Security Officer (Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Working 4- 10 hour shifts per week)

Traveling/Float position throughout the Portland Service Area- Supporting Providence Medical Groups.

$2,000 hiring/sign-on bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Lyra Caregiver Assistance program- Up to 25 counseling or coaching sessions per eligible member per year

Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer. Performs a variety of intermediate level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations.

Required Qualifications:



  • Coursework/Training Successful completion of one of the following.
  • Certified law enforcement academy, such as corrections, police, reserve or military police, or
  • Completion of certified military training. or
  • Healthcare Security Officer Advanced or Supervisor Certification through IAHSS.
  • Coursework/Training Successful completion of 5 additional FEMA Emergency Management Institute Courses from Security Services Approved Course List.
  • upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Or
  • upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Or
  • upon hire: Oregon Private Security Temporary Work Permit.
  • 3 years Experience in security or law enforcement in lieu of associates degree.
  • Experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate's Degree.
  • Coursework/Training: College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
  • Direct patient experience in a healthcare industry.
