About the Job

The Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services for the athletic department. Promotes health, conditioning and physical well-being of student athletes; provides first aid; promotes injury prevention and facilitates rehabilitation programs.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prevention of athletic injuries and illness, evaluation of athletic injuries, treatment of athletic injuries.
  • Provide counseling and education to student athletes, assist with coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions, recordkeeping and documentation, work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes.
  • Perform a variety of duties specifically related to training aspects of the program.
  • Travel with assigned team(s) to competitions. Assist in supervision of work study student and interns.
  • They must keep informed of current eligibility rules and regulations, and adhere to all appropriate rules and regulations/policies which include; University of Minnesota, NCAA, NSIC.
  • Other duties as assigned by the athletic director.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree Athletics Training, Exercise Science or related field
  • Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Personal commitment to integrity of the athletic program
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion and concept of the student-athlete
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations
  • Basic computer skills
