The Division of Computational Health Sciences in the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor, Academic Track, related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and biomedical informatics. Exceptional faculty candidates should have a strong scholarly record of developing and applying computational and data science to health and are expected to develop a nationally recognized research program supported by extramural funds. They will access the exceptional patient data and translational opportunities through M Health Fairview and Academic Health Center-Information Exchange, and the Center for Learning Health System Sciences. The successful candidate will join a uniquely interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment of scientists and scholars conducting innovative and impactful research aimed at improving health care outcomes and delivery. Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree with expertise in any area related to computer science, health data science, biomedical informatics. Faculty candidates will have active research on innovative computational methods for health sciences and clinical research. The specific areas of interest are not restricted and may include expertise in: artificial intelligence (including machine learning and neural networks), computer vision, predictive modeling, electronic health records, big data analytics, digital health and wearable devices, health informatics and clinical research informatics.
