About the Job

The University of Minnesota Crookston, one of five campuses comprising the University of Minnesota system, invites applications for a full-time faculty member to teach classes in the Business Department in the area of Accounting. This position is for individuals with a master's degree and/or a terminal degree with an interest in teaching and service.

Position
Full-time, nine-month P&A lecturer position in Accounting in the ACBSP-accredited Business Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting August 14, 2025. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive fringe benefits package is offered.

Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction on campus and online to the students in the Accounting program. This lecturer must be able to teach multiple sections of Accounting I and II, other Accounting classes, and possibly courses in Finance.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • advise students;
  • participate in recruitment and retention efforts;
  • enhance programs and student experiences, as well as employment opportunities;
  • contribute to department as an academically or professionally qualified faculty member as defined by ACBSP;
  • provide service to the department, institution, and profession; and
  • work collaboratively with faculty colleagues

This appointment carries a 30.0 credit teaching load (typically five 3.0 credit courses per semester).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching both on campus and online;
  • Ability to draw upon cultural and community-based knowledge in teaching;
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural competency within the scope of the land grant mission;
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English;
  • Commitment to an experiential educational philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree;
  • College teaching experience;
  • Familiarity with computer-based instructional technology;
