Pacific Power Group is looking for an eager and mechanically skilled Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our new location on Seattle, Lake Union.

Job Overview: This position is a field-based preventative maintenance apprentice level position. The primary role consists of performing preventative maintenance on marine diesel engines. This is a great opportunity for someone who has some industry experience or has just completed university or trade school training in diesel engines. This is a role with opportunity to grow as a technician in the marine diesel field.

Wage Range: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.

Requirements

Primary (Essential) Duties of the Job:

  • This position is field based preventative maintenance on marine diesel engines.
  1. Oil Service
  2. Coolant Service
  3. Sea Water System Service
  4. Battery System Service
  5. Belt and Hose Service
  6. Drive Service
  7. Hydraulic Steering Service
  8. Visual Inspection
  9. Operational Inspection

Including but not limited to:

  • Packing and transporting new and used engine fluids to/from vessel in a safe manner.
  • Communicate while on site with customer in a profession manner.
  • Work in yacht engine rooms with cleanliness as an important attribute.
  • Up-sale extra services while on-site.
  • Maintain a safe & organized work environment in the shop and in the field.
  • Maintains vessel records with an accurate documentation of service and repairs.
  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, as well as exploring value added opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Own basic set of mechanic's tools - preferred.
  • Laptop/PC skills - preferred.
  • Must display exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license and must be insurable.
  • This position requires periodic travel that may include off hours and weekends.
  • Must work well independently as well as part of a team and stay on task.
  • Must be detail oriented.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Primary Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to crawl, climb and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
