Laser Operator (2:30pm to 11:00pm) CNC MAZAK

Position Summary

Responsible for operating, programming, and troubleshooting Mazak laser machines. This role is responsible for creating efficient nesting programs to optimize material usage, maintaining machine performance, and ensuring high-quality production standards.

Essential Responsibilities



  • Operate and maintain Mazak laser cutting machines to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Create and optimize nesting programs to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues related to Mazak laser equipment.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders to ensure precise cutting and adherence to specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations, adjust settings, and perform quality checks to ensure consistent output.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs on Mazak laser equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and address technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance activities, and material usage.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.



Qualifications:



  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator, specifically with Mazak laser cutting machines.
  • Proficiency in creating and modifying nesting programs to optimize material usage.
  • Extensive troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing and resolving complex machine issues.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming languages and CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with material properties and cutting parameters for various metals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training is a plus.



Preferred Skills:




  • Experience with additional CNC equipment or machining processes.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

  • Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with assistance
  • Lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waist
  • Carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
  • Push/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Push/Pull more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis with assistance


Postural Demands
